Footprint Expert™ Guide

Standards such as the WRI Product Life Cycle Standard and the Publicly Available Specification (PAS) 2050 have been developed in response to broad community and industry desire for a consistent method for assessing the life cycle greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of goods and services.

The Footprint Expert Guide is a methodological rulebook on 'how to footprint' according to these standards and lists the requirements that a product carbon footprint assessment must follow for it to be certified by the Carbon Trust Footprinting Certification Company. This allows all footprints conducted under the Carbon Reduction Label scheme to be consistent in methodology and have comparable outcomes.

The Guide includes industry-specific guidance for the following sectors: agriculture (e.g., dairy, meat processing, livestock growing, crops and plants), construction (e.g., pallets, concrete), advertising (e.g., digital, paper and printing).
